Mechanical Inventory Specialist (TEMPORARY - part-time 28 hours/week) Mechanical Asset Inventory Specialist supports Planning and Utilities in inventory, documentation, and verification of mechanical physical assets across the BYU campus. This 3/4-time position is responsible for capturing detailed facility asset data—ensuring data accuracy, and completeness. The position requires attention to detail, and strong coordination with engineers and C N A. What you'll do in this position: Facility Asset Inventory & Documentation Data Capture, Entry & Quality Control Independent Field Coordination Coordinate with subject matter experts to capture/validate asset information Assist the planning department with temporary workload What qualifies you for this role: Required A firm commitment to the mission of BYU 2 years of experience in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Information Systems, Business, or related field. OR 2 years of experience in Facilities Operations, Asset Management, Construction Documentation, Technical Data Management, or related field. Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and database systems. Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines across multiple assignments High attention to detail Strong data management and data integrity skills Independent decision-making and problem-solving ability Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to interact professionally with technical and leadership personnel Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database software Preferred Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field. Experience with facility condition assessments (CNA), asset lifecycle documentation, or campus-scale asset inventories. Familiarity with Assetworks or similar enterprise asset management systems. Experience working in higher education or large institutional environments. Experience using 360-degree imaging equipment and digital documentation platforms. Familiarity with facility systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building envelope) Experience with enterprise asset management systems What we offer in return: This position comes with fantastic benefits , including: 401k.
