Inventory Control Specialist Job Description This temporary Inventory Control and Order Fulfillment role focuses on maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting cycle counts, and contributing to efficient warehouse operations. You will handle inventory-related documentation, assist with shipping and receiving, and help ensure that orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. The position suits someone who works reliably in a fast-paced environment, follows established processes, and pays close attention to detail when working with inventory data and physical stock. Responsibilities Support daily and periodic cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels. Monitor inventory accuracy by comparing physical stock with system records and reporting discrepancies. Perform general warehouse operations, including material handling, packing, and staging of goods. Assist with order fulfillment by picking, packing, and preparing items for shipment. Support shipping and receiving activities, including checking incoming and outgoing shipments and verifying documentation. Maintain and update inventory and document control records accurately in the system. Use data entry tools and systems, including SAP, to record inventory movements and transactions. Follow established processes and quality assurance procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency in inventory control. Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, when qualified, to move, load, and unload materials safely. Keep work areas organized, clean, and aligned with warehouse standards to support efficient operations. Collaborate with warehouse team members and supply chain staff to resolve inventory issues and support continuous workflow. Essential Skills Experience supporting inventory control activities, including cycle counts and inventory accuracy. Hands-on warehouse experience in a fast-paced environment. Background in shipping and receiving operations. Strong attention to detail when handling inventory tasks and documentation. Ability to follow established processes and standard operating procedures. Proficiency in data entry for inventory and warehouse transactions. Experience with inventory management or supply chain systems, including SAP or similar tools. Capability to perform material handling tasks, including loading and moving products. Reliability and consistency in attendance and work performance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Forklift experience or certification is a plus. Experience with document control and quality assurance processes in a warehouse environment. Familiarity with warehouse packing and order fulfillment practices. Comfort working in a fast-paced, physically active warehouse setting. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Leesburg, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
