The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position. Under direct supervision assists in various shop activities by performing the following duties. Who are we? Transport equipment or materials to various designated work areas for processing. Load trash bins and compactors Fill propane bottles. Change out on equipment. Operate hand tools and handling equipment when instructed. Read work instructions necessary to assist in operational process. Move materials and supplies for department personnel. Assist with housekeeping and cleanup operations. Provide support to shop personnel where needed. Perform light mechanical assembly. Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area. Performs other duties as assigned including participation in project committees Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Qualifications Ability to read and comprehend simple directions, traveler or work instructions, MSD. Sheets, part numbers. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Critical thinking skills and good decision making thought processes. Understanding and application of directions provided by lead/supervisor/manager. Adhere to company policies and procedures. Required Experience and Education Must have H.S. Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
