Job Title:
Laborer - 3rd Shift (We also have openings on 1st and 2nd) Job Description This role supports operations by safely receiving, unloading, weighing, and staging medical waste for processing in a warehouse environment. The laborer handles tubs and drums, feeds materials into processing equipment, and maintains a clean and orderly work area to ensure efficient and compliant operations on the 3rd shift. Responsibilities Receive incoming medical waste and unload materials from trucks and trailers safely and efficiently. Weigh tubs and other containers of medical waste accurately and record weights as required. Stage materials for processing by organizing and positioning tubs, drums, and other containers in designated areas. Offload and reload trailers, ensuring loads are secure and handled according to procedures. Dump tubs of medical waste into appropriate processing equipment in a safe and controlled manner. Place tubs onto washers and monitor their movement through the washing process. Perform drum consolidation by combining compatible materials into designated drums as directed. Place items on conveyors for further processing, ensuring continuous and steady material flow. Conduct quality control checks on tubs and containers after they come off the washer to confirm they are clean and meet standards. Maintain general housekeeping in the work area, including cleaning, organizing, and removing debris to support a safe and efficient workspace. Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines while handling medical waste and operating equipment. Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively to support smooth shift operations. Essential Skills Ability to perform general labor tasks in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Experience unloading trucks and trailers using safe lifting and handling practices. Capability to handle and move tubs, drums, and other containers of varying weights throughout the shift. Attention to detail when weighing and staging materials to ensure accuracy and proper processing. Comfort working around medical waste and following strict safety and handling procedures. Reliability in working a 3rd shift schedule and arriving on time for assigned shifts. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to standard operating procedures. Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a warehouse, industrial, or waste-handling environment is beneficial. Experience working with conveyors, washers, or similar processing equipment is an advantage. Familiarity with basic quality control checks on processed materials is helpful. Comfort working in a team-based environment and supporting coworkers as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates in a warehouse environment dedicated to receiving and processing medical waste. The role follows a 3rd shift schedule from approximately 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Working conditions involve handling tubs, drums, and containers of medical waste, operating around washers and conveyors, and performing tasks that require frequent lifting, bending, and standing. The environment may include exposure to odors and varying temperatures typical of a warehouse setting. Appropriate protective equipment and safety procedures are used to handle materials and maintain a safe workplace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Santa Ana, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.75 - $22.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
