Job Title:
Laborer - 3rd Shift (We also have 2nd shift available) Job Description This role supports a medical waste processing operation by safely receiving, unloading, weighing, staging, and preparing medical waste for processing on the 3rd shift. You will handle tubs and drums, operate conveyor-fed washing equipment, and perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse environment. Responsibilities Receive incoming medical waste and verify that materials meet facility requirements. Unload trailers safely and efficiently, using appropriate equipment and handling techniques. Weigh tubs and other containers of medical waste and record weights accurately for processing. Stage materials in designated areas to ensure a smooth and continuous processing workflow. Dump tubs and place them on the washer or conveyor system according to standard operating procedures. Perform drum consolidation by combining compatible materials as directed for efficient processing. Place items on conveyors in a steady, organized manner to support consistent throughput. Inspect tubs and containers after they come off the washer to ensure quality and cleanliness standards are met. Reload trailers with processed materials or equipment as required. Maintain a clean and organized work area through regular general housekeeping tasks. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures related to handling medical waste and working in a warehouse environment. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and address issues promptly. Essential Skills Ability to perform general labor tasks in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Experience with waste disposal, including safe handling of materials and adherence to procedures. Capability to lift, move, and handle tubs, drums, and other containers safely. Basic understanding of packing, staging, and organizing materials for processing. Attention to detail when weighing materials and performing quality checks on cleaned tubs. Willingness and ability to work 3rd shift hours from 8:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Reliability and punctuality to support continuous processing operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a warehouse or industrial environment. Experience working in waste processing, recycling, or similar operations. Comfort working around industrial washing and conveyor equipment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures. The role involves working around industrial washers, conveyors, and trailers in an active, production-focused setting. You can expect a physically demanding environment that requires standing, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift, with a strong emphasis on cleanliness, housekeeping, and adherence to safety procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Santa Ana, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.22 - $38.22/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
