South Valley Almond Company is now hiring seasonal workers for the upcoming harvest season!
Summary:
Seasonal Laborers helps plant, grow, and harvest crops such as corn, wheat, or tree fruit. You will work outdoors doing physical labor and using tools and equipment. You will also help keep the farm safe, clean, and running smoothly while working with a team.
Responsibilities:
Performs general labor including irrigation, fertilizing, spraying, mowing, pruning, thinning, harvesting, sweeping, and other field or equipment maintenance tasks as assigned. Applies crop protection materials such as pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers safely and in compliance with all regulations and company standards. Assists with maintenance and repair of fences, tools, irrigation systems, and basic farm equipment to support smooth daily operations. Supports safety and compliance efforts by following all company, OSHA, and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) requirements. Contributes to a team-oriented work environment by maintaining clear communication with coworkers and supervisors and assisting where needed to meet operational goals. Maintains farm security and appearance by safeguarding company property, ensuring gates and facilities remain locked and organized, and keeping assigned areas clean, orderly, and "tour-ready." Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
One (1) year or one full season of agricultural experience preferred. Experience in crop production environments is highly desirable. Basic understanding of farm equipment (e.g., tractors, sprayers, mowers, ATVs), including safe operation, routine maintenance, and proper handling. Working knowledge of crop care practices, including planting, pruning, and training, and the ability to recognize general crop health indicators such as pest presence, water stress, or nutrient deficiencies. Ability to work collaboratively within a team to ensure efficient use of labor, equipment, and other key resources. Effective communication skills with peers and supervisors to support clear direction and teamwork. Demonstrated attention to detail, strong observational skills, and a positive, safety-conscious attitude. Must be able to work a regular farm schedule of approximately 55-60 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and varied locations or shifts as required by seasonal demands.
Working conditions:
Frequent lifting up to ~50 lbs; extended walking and standing; regular use of tools and machinery; frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing; good vision and communication required; sustained physical labor. Outdoor agricultural settings; exposure to heat, cold, wind, sunlight; dust, pollen, chemicals; machinery and vehicles; uneven or elevated surfaces; moderate to loud noise; variable hours including extended or seasonal shifts; PPE required.
