Town of Stratford Job Title:
Laborer General Summary :
Reports directly to the Maintenance Lead Supervisor. This position is responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled tasks related to building and grounds maintenance.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Cutting grass
  • Shoveling snow
  • Pruning of shrubs
  • Removal of garbage and trash
  • Minor plumbing, electrical, heating and carpentry maintenance
  • Some painting
  • Performs related work as required
  • May work as a mechanic's helper
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Experience in building and grounds maintenance preferred.
  • Related experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
Education and Training:
Must possess a high school degree or an equivalency certificate. All Maintenance employees must always have a current valid Connecticut driver's license in effect during their period of employment.
