Videos Duties Help The major duties of the position Laborer (Motor Vehicle Operor) include, but are not limited to, the following: Performs simple and routine maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, equipment and reled utilities. Mowing grass and managing landscape. Performs minor painting using brush and roller according to specific instructions on projects where appearances are not critical such as staining picnic tables and trash barrels Reports discrepancies and damage to others responsible for such items. Operes a light truck to pick up supplies and to transport merials to and from Work sites while assisting on project work. Makes minor repairs as needed and refers problems to higher graded workers. Requirements Help Conditions of employment U.S. Citizenship required. Appointment subject to background investigion and favorable adjudicion. Meet Selective Service Registrion Act requirement for males Selectee required to participe in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program. You required to opere a government (or prive) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required. Physical Demands:
The work performed requires the exertion of very heavy physical effort in opering large riding mowers; or lawn and garden tractors on grades and in areas with bushes, trees, and other visible obstacles th require significant maneuvering and lever control. The work involves lifting and moving objects over 50 pounds, and in some cases, carrying 80 to 100 pounds (or more) with assistance.
Working Conditions:
Outside work is usually performed under all kinds of weher conditions. Indoor work is often accomplished in office buildings or in well-lighted, heed, and ventiled areas such as warehouses, loading docks, or trade shops. Frequently exposed to weher and temperure extremes, drafts, noise, dust, and dirt and the possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes. The equipment, tools, and tasks involved frequently require extreme care and use of safety gloves, ear plugs, safety glasses, or respirors to avoid severe injuries The Nional Park Service has determined th the duties of this position are not suitable for telework.
