Key Responsibilities:
Traffic Control & Customer Service:
Direct incoming trucks and light traffic safely on the tipping floor while delivering friendly service to customers and drivers.
Safety & Inspection:
Visually inspect waste loads to identify and safely separate unacceptable materials before final disposal.
Site Maintenance:
Keep the yard and transfer floor clean, safe, and organized throughout the day.
Equipment Support:
Assist equipment operators with routine inspections, basic maintenance, and care of wheel loaders or small backhoes.
Safety First:
Actively participate in GFL's safety culture, wear required PPE (including safety footwear), and report any hazards or incidents immediately.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Reliable & Punctual:
Excellent attendance habits and a strong work ethic.
Outdoor Preparedness:
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Physical Stamina:
Able to lift up to 40 lbs regularly and stay active on your feet.
Team Player:
Ability to work well independently as well as alongside operators and site team members.
Valid Driver's License:
Required for potential movement between local site locations.
Basic Equipment Familiarity:
Prior experience or basic knowledge of wheel loaders or small backhoes is a plus (willingness to learn is essential!).
