Job Description

Spotter/Laborer Waste Connections $20/hour+ OT life insurance, 401(k) United States, Florida, Ocala Jun 15, 2026 Safety Spotter / Laborer - Ocala, FL Florida Express Environmental (Waste Connections Company) Florida Express Environmental, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Safety Spotter / Laborer to join our team in Ocala, FL. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with a growing and reputable company. This role is a great entry point into our operations, with the goal of training the right candidate on heavy equipment over time.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday | Occasional Saturdays 45-50 Hours Weekly Starting at $20/hour+ OT Pay can be higher based on prior heavy equipment experience
Responsibilities:
Guide customers to appropriate landfill areas Spot and direct trucks safely on site Inspect incoming loads Monitor "hot zones" to ensure the safety of customers and employees Manage traffic flow (cones, signs, etc.) Ensure customers are following PPE and safety requirements Perform general site cleanup Assist with other duties as assigned
Working Conditions:
Exposure to outdoor elements including heat, cold, dust, noise, and odors Work around heavy equipment and active landfill operations Must follow all safety procedures and guidelines Ability to safely climb on/off equipment for inspection or training
Requirements:
At least 2 years of work experience (safety-related experience preferred) Previous heavy equipment experience is a strong plus Mechanical aptitude is a plus Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
