Duties Safely operate a box truck to deliver furniture items to residential and commercial locations, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws. Load and unload furniture using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while practicing safe lifting practices. Assist customers with the placement of furniture inside their homes or offices, providing excellent customer service throughout the process. Perform on-site furniture assembly and setup as needed, ensuring all items are correctly installed according to specifications. Use mobile devices to document deliveries, obtain signatures, and communicate with dispatch or team members efficiently. Follow established route driving procedures to optimize delivery schedules and minimize delays. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the truck and work area during and after deliveries. Requirements Valid driver's license with experience operating a box truck or commercial truck driving experience preferred. Proven delivery driver experience with a focus on safe driving practices and adherence to traffic regulations. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely; familiarity with weight handling in the workplace is essential. Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus. Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or similar devices. Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation. Ability to work effectively as part of a two-person team, assisting your partner with load & unload tasks and ensuring efficient deliveries. Comfortable working in physically demanding environments involving moving furniture and heavy items.
