The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM) is hiring an evening Building/Grounds Laborer. This position is responsible for coordinating activities related to cleaning and maintaining the ALPLM's beautiful campus. The ideal candidate is dependable, a self-starter, and is comfortable working alone as well as with others. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is a world class institution that welcomes more than 250,000 visitors every year and houses one of the world's best collections of Illinois and Lincoln-related documents, artifacts, and audiovisual materials. Cleans exhibit areas and stairways open to the public. Performs exterior maintenance of facilities. Participates in setting up and taking down tables and chairs for meetings, events and receptions. Wipes tables in meeting rooms, break rooms and common areas. Moves various items throughout the campus. Conducts rounds on the premises including parking garage. Performs upkeep on Agency vehicles to keep them clean of debris. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school. Conditions of Employment Requires possession of a valid appropriate driver's license and required auto insurance. Requires the ability to work holidays, evenings, and weekends. Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history. Requires the use of an agency-supplied mobile phone.
