Job Description

Position Summary Perform a variety of manual labor and maintenance duties to support the upkeep of town streets, parks, and public facilities. Responsibilities included mowing grass, trimming trees and shrubs, collecting litter, maintaining playgrounds and recreational areas, repairing park equipment, operating hand and power tools, and assisting with street maintenance projects. Worked safely and efficiently in outdoor environments while ensuring public spaces remained clean, attractive, and accessible for community use. Assisted with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, and event setup, while following safety procedures and collaborating with team members to complete daily assignments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintenance • Street shoulder maintenance and pothole patching. Snow removal, salt, sand. Mow, trim, edge, and maintain town properties, parks and trail grounds. Maintain landscaping, including planting, mulching, pruning, and weed control. Operate and maintain all town equipment in a safe manner. Perform seasonal leaf removal and debris cleanup. Install and repair street signs. Pick up and dispose of debris from streets to include road kill. Sweep streets with equipment. Paint lines in parking spaces, cross walks, town parking lots and streets. Spray weeds along fences at town parks, water towers and other locations. Trim and remove trees on town property and town right-of-way. Facility Maintenance Perform general building maintenance including minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs. Maintain restrooms, lighting, and facility fixtures. Conduct regular inspections for safety hazards and needed repairs. Clean and maintain public space. Perform general electrical troubleshooting (lighting, outlets, minor wiring repairs). Keep maintenance logs and service records. Empty trash cans in containers around town. General Responsibilities Assist other departments. Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies. Follow all OSHA and municipal safety procedures. Provide support during town emergencies as needed. Maintain positive public interaction and represent the Town professionally. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and light machinery. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor in all weather conditions. Minimum Qualifications 2+ years street maintenance, parks, or facilities experience preferred. Valid driver's license required. CDL preferred. Must pass drug test. Work Environment Normal working hours Monday-Friday 7:00-3:30 On-Call every third week with a A mandatory Saturday 8:00-12:00 p.m. during on-call
April-November Pay:
$20.00 - $35.00 per hour
