General Laborer

•Overview• We are seeking a general laborer with forklift experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sorting materials, unloading scrap, assisting customers and using a forklift to move materials as needed. Work performed is inside and outside during all seasons. Summary/objective The Material Sorter is responsible for sorting, processing, and preparing non-ferrous and ferrous materials for recycling. Sort and separate non-ferrous and ferrous materials Identify different types of materials Operate machinery and equipment to process materials Ensure safety procedures are always followed Maintain a clean and organized work area Performs other related duties as assigned. Competencies Experience working in a salvage yard with non-ferrous and ferrous materials Knowledge of different types of materials Ability to operate machinery and equipment Strong attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Good communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable attendance a must! Physical demands Continuous/Strenuous activities Repetitive Motion Lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work in all weather conditions
