Motor Carrier Act Exemption Position Summary:
Responsible for driving N2S equipment/trucks to and from various states and job sites and assisting as directed
Essential Functions:
Driving a straight truck with a max gross weight of 80,000 pounds, a tractor trailer combination with a tow vehicle of 10,001 pounds or greater with a gross weight of 80,000 pounds Interstate driving to and from multiple state jobs and locations Maintain ELD Drivers Logs Must comply with all local, state and federal laws to maintain a Class A CDL with tankers and hazmat endorsements Comply with Department of Transportation requirements related to the safe operation of commercial motor vehicles Is responsible for the practice of and enforcement of safety procedures. Performs routine maintenance on all equipment and trucks in fleet to ensure safety of the fleet Assures proper paperwork is done to record maintenance Maintains organization of equipment to present a professional appearance to customers and visitors
Other Responsibilities:
Must comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Education Required:
Any combination of education and experience which would be likely to produce the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Preference will be given to a high school degree, trade school, or Associates degree.
Experience Required:
2 years driving experience with
Class A CDL Skills Required:
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Ability to speak, read, and write English. Strong verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to comply with and enforce deadlines. Mentally alert; able to handle multiple tasks from multiple sources. Good presence of mind; able to recognize significance of unusual events. Must have insurable driving record for use of company vehicles. Must have Class A CDL driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, climb. Hearing adequate for phone work. Eyesight sufficient for computer use and paperwork. Ability to move freely about the job site and shop areas . Lifting of up to 75 pounds at a time.
Supervision:
Does not supervise others.
Contacts:
Contacts inside and outside the company.
Mental Demands:
Must be able to handle multiple tasks under deadline and stressful situations requiring decisiveness.
Required Work Habits:
Sustained dependable attendance. Cooperation with others in team environment for cross training and conference on operational issues. Initiative in learning and changing work methods to accomplish assigned tasks on a timely basis. Submission of required reports and paperwork associated with the position (time cards, progress reports, field service reports, etc.) on a regular and timely basis. Maintain insurable driving record for use of company vehicles. Maintain professional licensing as needed.
Working Conditions:
May be required to work overtime/weekends as business demands dictate. Tobacco-free office environment. Will be required to use safety equipment in shop and field areas.
