Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Landfill Spotter is responsible for ensuring proper placement and sorting of materials and guiding customers safely in the landfill.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Inspect materials and sort items or materials into piles prepping for the Equipment Operator.
- Direct Customers where to safely dump their debris at the landfill.
- Pull metal and lead items from piles being disposed.
- Monitor piles to ensure they are the appropriate size.
- Remove items that can be recycled and are not acceptable for disposal at the landfill.
- Follow appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs) as guideline for operating and maintaining equipment.
- Report any worker-public safety factors.
- Attend weekly/monthly safety/operations meetings.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
- Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro.
- Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to follow safe operating practices.
- Ability to learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer service
- Ability and willingness to work in a team environment
- Ability to read, write and comprehend reports well enough to complete daily assignments.

- Push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds, climbing steps, and overhead reaching.
- Walking, Jogging, Twisting, Crouching, Lifting
- Sufficient stamina for steady work pace throughout the day
- Ability to utilize all Personal Protective Equipment as mandated by company.

Works in a variety of environment conditions, including wide temperature and extreme weather variations, wind; noise and vibrations, fumes, odors and dust.
