Aquarion Water Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eversource. Job Summary The following Union position is listed as an opening at Aquarion Water Company of Massachusetts (Millbury/Oxford). A position is available in Millbury/Oxford, Massachusetts for a seasonal laborer associated with the water systems in Millbury and Oxford. Applicant must be in good physical condition and be capable of working a regular weekly eight (8) hour shift (Mondays through Fridays, with a half hour for lunch) and scheduled overtime as required. The applicant must have the necessary technical, mechanical, communication, and basic skills which are required to fulfill this position. Principal Responsibilities Reading, installing, and removing customer meters with radio based and hand held equipment, including uploading and downloading meter reading route information and data. Repairing and maintaining fire hydrants. Perform general plant maintenance, housekeeping, and grounds keeping. Assist in the maintenance and operation of pumps, motors, valves, hydrants, and related appurtenances. Operate a diverse assortment of mechanical and electrical tools, including pneumatic tools, cutting, hand, and power tools. Possess ability to lift 75 pounds and ability to use a respirator and other safety equipment. Insures all activities are in compliance with company and regulator mandated procedures, rules, regulations, and guidelines. Perform other various duties as assigned. Preferred Requirements Must be 18 years old. Must have a driver's license. Must be willing to work outdoors in the heat and full sun. Education/Certifications Must have a high school degree. Salary The base wage rate for this position is $19.56 per hour, subject to Union negotiated wage increases. This position will run from mid-May through the end of August This is a temporary, non-benefit eligible, full time position with a work schedule of Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week.
