General Description:

The Quincy Housing Authority is seeking a qualified candidate for the full-time position of Laborer. This role involves performing a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks in residential buildings, apartments, and associated facilities. The Laborer is responsible for supporting the overall upkeep, cleanliness, and functionality of Authority properties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance and minor repair tasks within buildings and apartments
• Maintain grounds and common areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
• Clean and prepare apartments following tenant turnover
• Perform custodial and janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal
• Assist with landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming, and seasonal upkeep
• Perform snow removal operations, including shoveling and plowing
• Repair and maintain fences and other exterior structures
• Lift and move heavy materials and equipment as required
• Operate and maintain a variety of hand tools and maintenance equipment
• Ability to be on call for emergencies on a rotating basis

Qualifications:

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions
• Basic knowledge of maintenance, custodial, and groundskeeping practices preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team

Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check, random drug screenings, and driving record review. The Laborer reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. ew

Pay:

$79,622.00 per year
