Job Description

Summary:
Provides exceptional customer service while loading/unloading, processing, pricing and merchandising product in assigned department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Unloads trailers and assists sales staff with putting product away; operates material handling equipment safely; loads product safely into customer vehicles when purchases are made. Assists sales staff with moving products around on the sales floor; sets up displays and prices product as directed by department manager. Provides excellent customer service by answering questions and providing information on merchandise to customers as able and requested. Performs light housekeeping, dusting and keeping department clean. Assist with loss prevention efforts, including alerting LP staff as soon as possible of customer/employee theft, tag switching, etc. and of any unsafe conditions including slips, trips, and falls. Other duties as assigned by department or store manager.
Qualifications:

Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED): or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combinations of education and experience. Some knowledge of merchandise or willingness to learn about merchandise merchandising.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add and subtract six digit numbers and to multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, and use hand to finger handling, or feel, reach with hands and arms up to 90% of the time. Kneel, stoop, crouch, talk and hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 20 pounds up to 80% of the time and lift/or move 40 pounds 20% of the time. Anything over 40 pounds requires a team lift or mechanical assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Note:
Ability to operate a material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack) after adequate training.
