The Snow Shoveler is responsible for clearing snow and ice from walkways, driveways, parking lots, stairs, and building entrances to ensure safe and accessible areas for employees, customers, and visitors. This position involves working outdoors in cold weather conditions and may require early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays depending on snowfall.
Key Responsibilities:
Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways, driveways, parking lots, and building entrances using shovels, snow blowers, and ice melt. Apply salt, sand, or de-icing chemicals to surfaces as directed. Ensure cleared areas meet company or property safety standards. Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly when snow removal is required. Operate snow removal equipment safely and effectively. Report any hazardous conditions, damage, or maintenance needs. Maintain tools and equipment in good working order. Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications:
Previous snow removal experience preferred but not required. Ability to work in cold, snowy, and icy conditions for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential. Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Willingness to work flexible or on-call hours, including early mornings and weekends.
Working Conditions:
Outdoor work in varying and sometimes extreme weather conditions. Physical labor including shoveling, lifting, and walking on uneven or slippery surfaces. May involve long or irregular hours during snow events.
