We have ONE opening Summary Reacts to issues affecting the production line to include hand stacking. Assists in the overall housekeeping of the department. Notifies Supervisor or Lead Operator Mechanic about any problems with the line. Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions Assists setting up non-qualified machine, feeds materials to it if needed and attends machine during operation. Always checks for latest revision of packing schedule before setting up machinery. Notifies Supervisor or Lead Operator Mechanic about problems with machine. Lifts and stacks materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Assists Machine Operators and Operator/Mechanics with some tasks as needed. Cleans and maintains all department areas. Follows safety rules and all company policies. Monitors all tables and conveyors to anticipate stoppages to prevent product backup. Assists in all rework and hand stacks product as needed. Assigned to other departments on occasion as directed. Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate. Receives verbal and written instructions from supervisor on above tasks and performs other work as directed by supervisor.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities High school or equivalency preferred. Mechanical ability a plus. Ability to speak, read and write English strongly preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities None Physical Demands Include stooping, crouching, reaching, bending, standing pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping. Work Environment Works inside, subject to some seasonal temperature variation and intermittent wetting from some job tasks. Some contact with grease, ink, dust and glue. Fumes from hot pepper, ink, glue and forklifts Note Earplugs required due to irritating machinery noise. Head cover and beard cover required. Steel-toed shoes recommended but not required.
