POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, performs daily work assignments for the Golf Course Division of the Parks & Recreation Department in accordance with the Employee Manual, Department Policies and Procedures, City of Alamogordo Ordinances, and any applicable State or Federal authority.

RECRUITMENT QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Sufficient education to perform essential duties and understand and follow oral and written instructions; and
  
• Valid New Mexico Driver's License with a driving record acceptable to the City of Alamogordo.

Desired:

• Experience operating lawn care equipment and basic hand tools.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties

• Mows golf course greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and peripheral areas;
  
• Performs landscaping functions including mowing, fertilizing, and weed eating;
  
• Operates top dresser, chainsaw, and rakes bunkers;
  
• Maintains shop areas and restrooms in a clean, sanitary, and orderly fashion;
  
• Monitors and adjusts lake levels as necessary;
  
• Picks up and properly disposes of trash and refuse on and around the golf course;
  
• Sets cups on greens;
  
• Cleans and maintains tools, equipment, and work area;
  
• Contributes to a high-quality work culture through participation in training and mentoring to develop skills, including safety-related training and skills;
  
• Interacts professionally and provides excellent customer service to all levels of City staff and citizens to ensure high operational and service standards; and
  
• Performs duties in accordance with the Employee Manual, Department Policies and Procedures, City of Alamogordo Ordinances, and any applicable State or Federal authority.

OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES

• Maintains the confidentiality of information obtained during the performance of duties;
  
• May work a non-traditional work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, if necessary; and
  
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
