A laborer is a worker who performs physical tasks and manual labor as part of their job. They are employed in a variety of industries from Warehousing to Manufacturing. Responsibilities can include assisting with shipping and receiving operations, moving equipment, and organizing inventory.
The Parks and Recreation Department is seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals for the role of a Parks and Grounds Laborer. This position involves maintaining and improving the parks and public spaces within our community. Key Responsibilities:
Grounds Maintenance:
Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, raking leaves, and removing debris.
Landscaping:
Planting flowers, trees, and shrubs, and assisting with landscape design.
Facilities Upkeep:
Cleaning and maintaining park facilities, including restrooms, picnic areas, and playgrounds.
Equipment Operation:
Operating mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
Safety Compliance:
Adhering to safety protocols and reporting any hazards or incidents to supervisors.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or related field preferred but not required.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to perform strenuous physical labor in various weather conditions.
Skills:
Basic knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
License:
Valid driver's license required with a clean driving record. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Other:
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a positive attitude. This position requires pre-employment and/or random drug testing in accordance with company policy. • And other duties as assigned or required. •
Work Schedule:
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00
PM Flexibility:
Some weekend or evening work may be required for special events or peak periods.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate:
$12.00 - $15.00
