Short Term Position Summary The Mill Operator / Laborer is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, and maintaining mill processing equipment while performing housekeeping and general labor duties throughout the plant. This position supports safe, efficient, and reliable production by conducting inspections, troubleshooting equipment issues, maintaining clean work areas, and assisting maintenance personnel as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operations Operate and monitor milling, crushing, conveying, pumping, and processing equipment. Conduct routine equipment inspections and complete pre-operational checks. Monitor process conditions and make adjustments to maintain production targets. Identify and report equipment malfunctions, leaks, abnormal vibrations, or unsafe conditions. Assist with plant startups, shutdowns, and operational changes. Record operational data, readings, and shift reports accurately. Labor and Housekeeping Perform plant cleanup activities, including shoveling, hosing, and removing spilled material. Maintain clean and organized work areas, walkways, platforms, and stairways. Properly store hoses, tools, and equipment when not in use. Dispose of trash and debris in designated areas. Assist with sump cleaning, screen changes, and other operational support tasks.
