About Our Client:
Our client is Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). This is an on-site position and the contract is expected to last approximately 6 months with a possibility to be hired on permanently by RIT (temp to perm role). The pay rate is $17.00/hr- $18.50/hr, with the hours of Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm. The perfect candidate will have at least 1 year experience in a general grounds position and must have a valid drivers license.
Job Responsibilites:
Cleanup of branches, leaves, trimmings, stone. Shoveling, digging post holes, moving stone. Edging mulch beds and spreading mulch. Planting trees, shrubs and flowers. Weeding and edging mulch beds. String trimming and push mowing borders, etc. Filling potholes in asphalt areas and sinkholes around buildings. Small amount of furniture and appliance moving as necessary. Tree and hedge trimming. Understand MSDS sheets and safe work practices. Comply with
OSHA, NYS
Building Codes, EPA, and DEC requirements.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
Must have prior general grounds experience and basic mechanical aptitude. Must be reliable, dedicated, and trustworthy. Ability to lift at least 50lbs. Valid driver's license is required. Reliable transportation to Henrietta, NY.
