Job Description
This position will help support the Right of Way department throughout the summer by painting and refreshing light poles, traffic lights, and other signage. Prior painting experience is preferred but not required. Supports seasonal needs of the Service Department. Under general supervision, assists with maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, curbs, catch basins, performs unskilled and semi-skilled labor tasks, utilizes hand and power tools and performs other related duties as required. Performs unskilled and semi-skilled labor tasks (e.g., shovels asphalt or other materials, rakes leaves, paints fire hydrants and performs related tasks as required. Cleans equipment, washes and waxes vehicles, reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor. Assists other departments as needed. Other duties may be assigned. Education and/or
Experience:
Must be 18 years of age or older Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have a valid Ohio driver's license.
Other Qualifications:
Must be insurable under fleet policy of the City. Must be able to function effectively with team members. Must be punctual and reliable.
Ability to:
Understand and follow specific oral instructions Perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions. Lift heavy items requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp and repetitive motions
