This role involves cleaning and finishing cast metal parts using hand tools and grinders, as well as preparing cores used in the sand casting process. No experience needed, we'll train the right person. Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, and enjoy working with a small crew. Conditions get very hot in the summer. This isn't a job for someone who doesn't like physically demanding work. Responsibilities Grind and finish metal castings using hand tools, bench grinders, and pneumatic tools Remove excess metal, burrs, and sharp edges from cast parts Inspect parts for defects or inconsistencies after grinding Prepare sand and core molds according to specifications Assemble and maintain core boxes and core-making equipment Handle and transport cores carefully to avoid damage Clean and maintain grinding tools and work areas Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE Assist foundry team with general labor tasks as needed Report any issues or equipment malfunctions to supervisors Any and all other tasks assigned Experience Experience in a foundry, metalworking, or manufacturing environment (not required, but a plus) Familiarity with hand tools, grinders, or pneumatic tools Basic understanding of sand casting or core-making processes Ability to read and follow basic work instructions or blueprints Comfortable working in hot, dusty, and loud environments Proven track record of reliability and strong work ethic Forklift or material handling experience is a plus Join our team today and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality products while developing your skills in a supportive environment!
