PTO, Life Insurance, Referral Program Laborer Primary Function:
Perform general labor functions throughout the plant, including casting, molding, shipping and receiving, drying, and cleaning (plant & equipment). Some jobs require heavy lifting and are very dirty. What will you be doing? Operate the Casting Line, including feeding material, maintaining proper weights, recording densities and compressions, loading and unloading buggies, drying (ensuring proper curing temperatures), and submitting laboratory samples.
Handle and operate normal tools and equipment in a safe and efficient fashion, including the laminator, molds (some weigh 100-125 pounds), dryers, buggies, floor scrapers, pallet movers, spray guns, and shovels. Similarly operate the scrap grinder, garbage compactor, baling machine, molded urethane equipment, casting equipment, sand blaster, forklifts, continuous foamer, mattress covering machine, electric hoist, autoclaves, high pressure washers, squeeze washer, and centrifuge, if so assigned, when fully qualified.
Perform various cleaning tasks, including the latex and compounding tanks, Casting line and equipment, the JL and Ross Lines and equipment, molds, continuous foamer (mixing heads weigh 50-75 pounds), drains, sumps, bun and large slab setups, vertical saw slitter operation, and the general areas both inside and outside the plant(s).
Move material to and from workstations as needed. Remove scrap hoppers from the various workstations.
Assist Shipping and Receiving personnel if assigned. Load and unload delivery and shipping trucks. Grind and bag scrap foam.
Place scrap in garbage compactor or open dumpster.
Assist Maintenance personnel on some projects if assigned.
Maintain complete and accurate records and reports as needed.
Paint the plant when necessary.
Perform any additional duties, including those involving heavy lifting and handling, assigned by the Department Supervisor.
