Job Description Summary The Laborer will primarily focus on the visual inspection, transportation and packaging of final work product according to customer specification. Essential Functions Adheres to plant and department safety rules, safely operate all equipment and tools, identifies and reports safety problems, corrects when possible. Transports material from production through final packaging, via forklift or other manual and mobilized equipment. Load and unload material for shot blast operations or other value-added service. Package material into drums, Gaylords, boxes or super sacks according to customer specification, this includes adherence to weight specification. Identify product through labeling and stencils. Perform visual quality inspection of product. Unload trucks with incoming materials. Maintains a clean work environment. Performs miscellaneous functions as needed in various departments. Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. 2-4 years' experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment preferred. Competencies Experience operating forklifts preferred. Must have attention for detail, including basic math skills with the ability to add and subtract accurately. Proficient in the basic use of a computer to facilitate the entry and completion of work orders. Able to use basic hand tools. Must physically be able to frequently lift up to 35 lbs. with frequent bending. Able to multi-task with shifting priorities and multiple interruptions. Must be willing to work shifts and overtime as needed, including 12-hour shifts. Performs other related duties as assigned.
