Description:
Glosser Steel Service Center is seeking a Warehouse Laborer, Night Shift for our Windber, PA location. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong attention to detail and is committed to workplace safety. This is a Full-Time position, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM Monday through Friday.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Laborer will perform general stocking labor including moving freight, stock, and other materials. Requirements:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Use lifting equipment safely to load and unload trucks and racks Ensure that outgoing products and quantities are correct and match bills of ladings Ensure outgoing products meet quality standards Sorts steel products before loading or unloading. Uses bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported. Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND
ABILITIES
) Ability to follow directions. Ability to handle materials and equipment in a responsible manner. Strong attention to detail. Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required. Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping. Exposures encountered, such as loud noise, or extreme heat/cold. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
At least one year of related experience is preferred. Experience with using forklifts, lift trucks, and cranes is highly preferred.
