Position Summary:
This position is responsible to provide support and assistance in a sand and gravel processing operation. This position will perform truck loading operations, site cleanup, weed eating, shoveling sand/gravel, inventory clean and organization, and material bagging. This position will also support by operating forklift to load orders onto vehicles, and to move product materials through our production and delivery process when necessary. If proficiency is demonstrated, this position is available to be trained into Dry Plant and further operations. Additionally, it is the responsibility of this position, to maintain grounds cleanliness. The laborer will also perform quality testing on varying products via sieve analyses as required by management.
Essential Functions Responsibilities:
The duties described below are indicative of what might be asked to perform. This is not an exhaustive list of job responsibilities and therefore other duties may be assigned: 1. Safely operate and maintain forklifts, to move product for customer product pickup/loading, and to move product to storage or for organization as needed. 2. Safely operates and maintains all production equipment once task training is completed. 3. Learns, understands, and always complies with applicable plant safety rules and regulations. Holds self and others accountable for safe operations, wears required PPE, participates in regular MSHA and safety training/testing. 4. Coordinates product orders with Site Supervisor to ensure outbound loads are staged and ready to be shipped. 5. Maintains ground cleanliness by performing duties such as but not limited to: shoveling, product cleanup, weed eating, garbage removal, product wrapping, sweeping, and pest control. 6. Prepares orders for shipment according to established procedures, checks loads for proper product once on a truck and places Bill of Lading of and packing slips in the correct locations after scanning. 7. Files correspondence, reports, safety inspections and other materials. May file confidential data. 8. Assists others on the Portable Plant site with special projects and other work as assigned. 9. Communicates with other employees regarding status of work in process to ensure smooth operation of the order fulfillment and shipping process. 10. Reacts quickly to problem situations and to directions given by management. 11. Other duties as assigned.
Working Relationships:
Reports directly to Portable Plant Site Supervisor. Works closely with the Production Manager, and others in Order Logistics/Production.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma/equivalent. Must have experience operating a forklift and/or other heavy equipment. Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds on a repetitive basis. Required valid driver's license Must be able to work both independently and as a team member, and multi-task effectively. Must be able to interact professionally with other people in person, follow written and verbal instructions, write legibly for logs and documentation, perform basic math operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions and decimals), use a computer proficiently for data entry at times. Must be willing to learn new skillsets to meet company or customer needs.
Schedule:
Scheduling will be in accordance with the plant operational needs (up to 12 hours per day). This may include weekend work to support plant cleaning or repair requirements. Hours will generally be scheduled between 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. weekdays but not guaranteed. Start and end times are subject to change, and weekends may be required at times. Scheduling may vary week to week based on company needs.

The physical and work environments described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. The duties of this job include physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, sitting, walking, lifting and/or move (up to 100 pounds), fingering, grasping, talking, hearing/listening, seeing/observing, and repetitive motions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Operates levers, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate necessary equipment.
Working Conditions:
Work will be performed outdoors with exposure to weather (heat, cold, humidity, rain, snow, etc.), dust, noise, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. The vast majority of your time will be spent outdoors. Requires excellent eye-hand coordination for operation of equipment and data entry. May be required to sit for extended periods of time and move in and out of equipment periodically throughout the workday, onto uneven terrain.
