Temporary Position Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Shop Laborer to support operations in our electric motor repair shop on an as-needed basis. This role involves assisting technicians, with a primary focus on cleaning and preparing materials such as copper coils, rotor pole irons, and other related parts.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and prepare parts used in rotating machinery. Operate tools such as die grinders, pressure washers, media blasters, and chemical baths. Move parts and equipment within the shop using forklifts, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Adhere to all safety protocols and PPE requirements. Assist with loading and unloading equipment for delivery or shipment. Support technicians and supervisors with general shop duties as needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude and experience with hand/power tools. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and standing for long periods. Forklift certification is required. Willingness to work overtime when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
