Graveyard Freight Handler

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Freight Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and effective handling of freight within our warehouse or distribution center. This role requires proficiency in operating heavy equipment and a strong understanding of materials handling processes. The Freight Handler will play a crucial part in ensuring that goods are received accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities Operate pallet jacks, to move freight within the warehouse. Unload freight from trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Assist in building pallets for storage, ensuring that loads are secure and stable. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency. Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance needs. Follow all safety protocols while handling materials to maintain a safe working environment. Skills Proficiency in heavy equipment operation, particularly with pallet jacks. Experience in materials handling within a warehouse or distribution center environment. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate inventory management. Previous experience as a warehouse handling is a plus but not required.
