Job Description

Cardoon is hiring!

Cardoon is an all day cafe in Ballard serving specialty coffee, Chinese and German inspired food, and a low-and-no alcohol bar program. We are a women and asian owned business with a small, diverse, and hard working team.

We are looking for a prep cook / assistant baker to join us part-time! Looking for someone who can take direction well, and work well solo and efficiently in a small shared space. Must be available from 7am - 1pm within Thursday through Sunday (Thursday & Saturday at minimum to start, and ideally Friday & Sunday as well).
Duties include:
Morning bakes & food prep for the day (ex: bread, cake, cookies, rice)Setting up our pastry case and FOH fridge for the day, and service / restock throughout the day according to parsAdvance prep work across our menu areas - baked items, cooked dishes, bar components (ex: pickles, par cooking, veg / fruit slicing, syrups / caramels)Actively and continually keeping a tight and clean station (ex: always reset before moving onto a new task)Communicating clearly with FOH and BOH (ex: low stock, prep needs etc) in various channels (verbal, written, Slack)Must have at least 1 year of experience working in a commercial kitchen environment, and competent basic knife skills. Baking experience is beneficial but not required (we are excited to train you!)Pay starts at $21.30 / hr plus tips (pooled weekly between
