Job Description

The General Laborer duties vary depending on the setting they work in and their level of specialization. They help with general jobsite labor needs such as jobsite clean-up, moving, loading and unloading of materials, equipment and tool operation, miscellaneous carpentry tasks, demolition and assistance to carpenters and concrete workers. Key Responsibilities Perform all duties assigned by the Foreman and Superintendent Follow all HBI safety rules and all safety regulations General labor assistance to concrete crew Place, cut, and tie rebar or wire mesh Clean up jobsite from material waste, hazardous, and/or obsolete material Assist carpenters Handle and transport materials and equipment Use of power tools Operate machinery as needed Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks Put up warning signs (e.g. signposts, cones) for vehicles and passersby Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions Qualifications and Requirements Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 100 pounds etc.) Good hand-eye coordination Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus Communication and teamwork skills Commitment to safety rules Able to work under outdoor conditions including heat, cold, snow and rain Apprenticeship or specialization is an asset, but not necessary Punctual, dependable, team player Strong work ethic
