Job Description

Materials Specialist will be an integral aspect of the Materials Department and directly interface with the entire materials department, production department, quality department, maintenance department and the engineering departments.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations.
  • Interpret and understand customer releases on both weekly and daily basis.
  • Excellent communication with both the customer and suppliers
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Follow up with carriers to ensure on time delivery.
  • Ability to look out at forecast and see increases and issues in shipping.
  • Understand cycle count process as well as FIFO.
  • Assure the floor is following FIFO procedure so breakpoints can be attained.
  • Review inventory levels daily to assure material availability.
  • Communicate issues affecting material flow to management personnel.
  • Responsible for safe, timely, accurate shipments to FWA.
  • Understand our storage of material and window times for the different loads of incoming material.
  • Responsible for housekeeping of area.'
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Actively participate in self-directed work team model.
  • Participate in plant recycling programs.
  • Follow ISO14001 and TS16949 procedures/processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Contribute to the achievement of quality/management objectives by providing accurate part numbers to the line in a safe and timely manner as requested.
  • Ability to react quickly and professionally in urgent/critical situations
Qualifications:
SAP
  • Associate degree (AA/AS.); two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Detailed oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
