This position reports directly to the Shipping / Receiving Lead and will provide experienced support across daily shipping, receiving, warehouse, and logistics activities. The successful candidate will be capable of independently coordinating shipments, resolving shipping and receiving issues, maintaining accurate ERP transactions, working with carriers and logistics providers, and providing backup support to the Shipping / Receiving Lead. This is a hands-on position requiring approximately 60% warehouse/shipping execution and 40% computer, documentation, and logistics coordination. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of daily activities, work with limited supervision, and help keep shipments and receiving activities moving accurately and on time. Key Responsibilities Support the Shipping / Receiving Lead with daily shipping, receiving, warehouse, and logistics operations. Coordinate and execute domestic customer shipments from order verification through final carrier pickup. Pick, verify, package, label, palletize, and stage products for shipment. Verify part numbers, quantities, customer requirements, packaging, labels, shipping instructions, and documentation before release. Prepare and process packing lists, bills of lading, shipping labels, commercial invoices, and other required shipping documentation. Process shipping and receiving transactions accurately in the company ERP and inventory systems. Coordinate shipments through UPS, FedEx, LTL, FTL, air freight, ocean freight, and other transportation providers, as applicable. Process shipments using Micrometals freight accounts as well as customer-provided carrier accounts and routing instructions. Schedule carrier pickups and coordinate delivery requirements. Communicate directly with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, Customer Service, Purchasing, Inventory, Production, and other departments as required. Track active shipments and proactively resolve missed pickups, delays, documentation issues, freight damage, delivery problems, and other transportation exceptions. Support international and cross-border shipping activities and documentation. Receive incoming materials and verify items and quantities against purchase orders and packing documentation. Identify receiving discrepancies and coordinate resolution with Purchasing and other responsible departments. Maintain accurate inventory, shipping, receiving, and warehouse records. Support inventory counts and inventory verification activities as required. Repackage, relabel, and prepare material to meet customer shipping requirements. Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely. Maintain an organized and efficient Shipping / Receiving work area. Identify opportunities to improve shipping, receiving, documentation, and warehouse processes. Follow established quality, safety, ISO 9001, and company procedures. Provide experienced backup support for the Shipping / Receiving Lead during absences, high-volume periods, or other operational requirements. Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish with Anaheim personnel and with the Micrometals Mexicali operation. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of hands-on shipping, receiving, logistics, warehouse, or transportation experience, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution environment. Experience processing domestic shipments through UPS, FedEx, LTL, and/or truck freight. Experience preparing and reviewing packing lists, bills of lading, shipping labels, and related shipping documentation. Experience working with ERP, inventory management, warehouse, or shipping systems. Ability to independently coordinate shipments and resolve routine shipping and receiving problems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple shipments and changing operational requirements. Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and related business systems. Bilingual English/Spanish required. Ability to communicate professionally with carriers, customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal departments. Ability to stand and move throughout the workday and safely lift up to 60 lbs. Ability to operate, or become certified to operate, forklifts and other material-handling equipment. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of shipping, receiving, or logistics experience. Experience working in a manufacturing environment. International or cross-border shipping experience. Knowledge of commercial invoices, certificates of origin, customs documentation, and export/import shipping requirements. Familiarity with Incoterms. Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers. Experience coordinating air and ocean freight. Experience working with customer routing guides and customer freight accounts. Experience supporting Mexico/U.S. cross-border logistics. Experience working under ISO 9001 or similar quality systems. Previous experience serving as a backup lead or independently managing shipping/receiving operations. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand and move about for extended periods of time. Must be able to safely lift up to 60 lbs. Must be able to operate material-handling equipment as required.
