About the Job We are seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive Shipping Clerk / Shipping Assistant to support daily logistics, inventory, and transportation operations. This role is critical in ensuring smooth shipment scheduling, accurate inventory management, and cost-effective freight coordination. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and capable of handling multiple logistics functions in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts to maintain accurate stock levels Monitor and manage inventory records using spreadsheets or inventory software Order pallets, shipping supplies, and warehouse materials as needed Schedule pickups and deliveries with flatbed carriers and freight providers Track shipments and resolve scheduling or delivery issues Coordinate with warehouse, purchasing, and management teams Maintain shipping documentation, Bills of Lading (BOLs), rate confirmations, and invoices Ensure compliance with company procedures and shipping regulations

Safety & Warehouse Operations:

Adhere to all OSHA, federal, state, and local safety standards. Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts (certification preferred).

Required Qualifications Experience:

3 plus years of experience in shipping, logistics, or inventory role within manufacturing.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and experience with systems (e.g., SAGE/AS400,MAS).

Logistics Knowledge:

Familiarity with FTL.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds regularly.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred Skills Forklift certification. Experience in the roofing or building materials industry. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is often preferred.
