Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to support material flow and inventory activities in Fresno, California. This Long-term Contract position plays a key role in keeping parts and supplies moving efficiently between suppliers, warehouse operations, production teams, and worksites. The person in this role will help maintain accurate records, coordinate shipments, and work across departments to reduce delays and support uninterrupted operations.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the movement of materials and parts from suppliers and warehouse locations to production areas and field sites to help avoid disruptions.
- Maintain current inventory, order status, and material tracking records to improve visibility and support efficient planning.
- Use ERP and logistics systems to place orders, receive incoming items, process shipments, store parts properly, and keep data accurate.
- Review stock levels and open orders regularly to ensure critical materials are available to meet operational needs.
- Prepare and process purchase requisitions for needed parts and supplies in a timely manner.
- Track inbound and outbound shipments, verify freight pricing with carriers, combine loads when appropriate, and choose practical transportation options that balance service and cost.
- Partner with teams in quality, engineering, customer service, production control, and manufacturing to communicate potential constraints and material-related issues.
- Provide updates on shortages, shipping exceptions, and inventory concerns so teams can respond quickly and maintain workflow continuity. Requirements
- Experience in logistics, supply chain coordination, inventory control, or materials handling within an operations or manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of shipping, receiving, purchasing support, and supplier coordination processes.
- Familiarity with ERP or similar business systems used for ordering, inventory updates, and shipment tracking.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and monitor multiple material movements at once.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to identify shortages, delays, and bottlenecks and support timely resolution.
- Comfort working in an onsite role in a fast-paced setting that supports production and operational demands.
