Hayward, Ca Pay rate: $25-$30 per hour Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Production Planner to support production scheduling and planning activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience planning sheet metal production and working with complex Bills of Materials (BOMs) containing 700+ line items. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple projects, and close collaboration with production, engineering, purchasing, and inventory teams. Key Responsibilities Assist in developing and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules. Plan and coordinate the manufacturing of sheet metal components to meet customer delivery requirements. Review, analyze, and maintain complex Bills of Materials (BOMs) with 700+ line items, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to accommodate changes in demand, material availability, or production capacity. Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure raw materials and components are available for production. Work closely with Engineering to implement engineering change orders (ECOs) and BOM revisions. Track work orders and production status within the ERP/MRP system. Identify production bottlenecks and recommend scheduling improvements. Maintain accurate production planning records and generate reports as needed. Support inventory control by monitoring material shortages and excess inventory. Communicate production priorities and schedule updates to manufacturing teams. Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in production planning or manufacturing scheduling. Hands-on experience planning sheet metal manufacturing operations. Experience working with complex Bills of Materials (BOMs) containing 700+ line items. Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle, JobBOSS, or similar). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related field. Experience in sheet metal fabrication, machining, or metal manufacturing. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
