Senior Logistics Planner /
Supply Planning Specialist Location:
Oakland, CA (Hybrid - onsite up to 3 days per week, subject to business needs)
Duration :
12 Months Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Logistics Planner / Supply Planning Specialist to oversee supply planning activities across multiple material categories. The ideal candidate will possess strong inventory management expertise, advanced analytical capabilities, hands-on SAP experience, and advanced Excel skills. This role requires close collaboration with operations, project teams, finance, and supply chain stakeholders to ensure material availability while optimizing inventory performance. Key Responsibilities Manage supply planning activities for a complex portfolio of materials and inventory categories. Review and release purchase requisitions, initiate stock transfers, and expedite orders with suppliers to support project timelines. Develop and communicate allocation strategies during material shortages. Support emergency material procurement and expediting activities when required. Collaborate with program management, construction, operations, and finance teams to align supply plans and assumptions. Maintain planning parameters within SAP/MRP systems to achieve inventory and service-level targets. Analyze inventory performance, forecast accuracy, and material availability trends. Present findings, recommendations, and planning insights to leadership and stakeholders. Mentor team members on supply planning best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Support process improvement efforts utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience. Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain, materials planning, inventory management, logistics planning, or related functions. Experience working with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems. Technical Skills Hands-on experience with SAP MRP or similar ERP/MRP platforms. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
Pivot Tables Conditional Formatting Complex Formulas Keyboard Shortcuts and Data Analysis Tools Core Competencies Inventory management and forecasting expertise. Strong understanding of forecasting methodologies and their operational and financial impacts. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational and decision-making skills. Effective presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and business functions. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a related discipline.
APICS CPIM
certification. 7+ years of supply chain or materials planning experience. Knowledge of SAP ERP, APO, Oracle Demand Planning, or similar planning solutions. Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies. Additional Information Candidates should be local to the Bay Area and able to work in a hybrid environment. Occasional travel may be required.
Standard work schedule:
40 hours per week. Equipment will be provided for business-related work activities as applicable. Top Skills for Success Inventory management, forecasting, and statistical analysis.
