Job Description

Job Description We are looking for a Production Planner to own the build schedule for our complex electromechanical instruments. This is a hands-on role at the center of our operation: you will translate demand into executable work orders, drive material readiness across Procurement, Warehouse, Quality, and Manufacturing, and be the person the floor turns to when a build is at risk.
Production planning and scheduling:
Own the master production schedule and release work orders for instrument builds, subassemblies, and service/spares demand. Run and action MRP in Oracle, converting planned orders into requisitions and work orders with correct dates, quantities, and priorities. Balance the schedule against labor capacity, test and burn-in cell availability, and material lead times; escalate conflicts with a recommended path forward. Maintain planning parameters — lead times, safety stock, reorder points, lot sizing, and sourcing rules — so system output is trustworthy.
Material readiness and clear-to-build:
Publish clear-to-build and shortage reports for every scheduled build; drive them to closure through daily follow-up. Work directly with Procurement to expedite, pull in, or push out purchase orders, and to communicate the true need-by date rather than the system default. Partner with the Warehouse on kit staging, pick accuracy, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy; walk the stockroom to verify what the system claims is on hand. Engage Quality on incoming inspection priorities, non-conforming material, and MRB dispositions that hold up available inventory. Work alongside Manufacturing and Test to sequence builds, resolve line-side shortages, and adjust the plan when a unit is held for rework or troubleshooting.
Data integrity and continuous improvement:
Maintain BOM accuracy and manage the material impact of engineering changes, including cut-in points, rework requirements, and disposition of obsolete inventory. Reconcile work order material issues, backflush errors, and variances; keep inventory transactions clean in Oracle. Report on schedule attainment, on-time delivery, inventory levels, and shortage recovery, with clear commentary on causes and countermeasures. Identify and fix recurring root causes of build delays rather than re-firefighting the same shortage each cycle. We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please send a request to HR@insightglobal.com.
