00 annually SUMMARY The Supply Chain Specialist is essential in ensuring the seamless flow of goods and services from origin to consumption, with a strong emphasis on supplier quality, on-time delivery, and minimizing the cost of poor quality. This role is responsible for optimizing inventory, managing procurement, coordinating logistics, and implementing process improvements across the supply chain. The ideal candidate will proactively support non-conformance resolutions, and supplier audits, and drive cost-efficiency while enhancing customer satisfaction. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key to continuously improving supply chain operations and ensuring high-quality performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Procurement & Supplier Quality Management:
Negotiate supplier contracts, source high-quality materials including launching RFQs aligning with company saving goals and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and high standards of quality. Monitor supplier performance regularly, focusing on on-time delivery and compliance with quality standards. Actively support management with coordination of non-conformances by investigating issues, working with suppliers to resolve defects, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented to prevent future occurrences. Assist with selective supplier audits to assess performance, quality control systems, and adherence to contractual agreements.
Inventory & Warehouse Management:
Forecast demand trends, monitor inventory levels, and implement strategies to optimize stock levels through consignment programs, avoiding stockouts and excess inventory. Ensure product quality is maintained throughout the supply chain by overseeing warehouse operations and preventing issues such as product degradation or damage.
Logistics & Transportation Coordination:
Optimize transportation methods and shipping schedules to ensure on-time delivery and cost-efficient routing. Track shipments and resolve any transportation-related issues, preventing delays or product damage that could impact customer satisfaction and quality.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze leadership's selected critical supply chain data using company tools to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and quality-related issues such as the cost of poor quality (COPQ) and on-time delivery performance. Consolidate detailed reports for senior management as needed, highlighting non-conformances, and corrective actions, and recommending improvements to enhance operational efficiency and supplier performance.
Risk Management & Contingency Planning:
Identify risks related to supplier financial health, delivery performance, and supply chain disruptions. Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate the impact of risks such as poor quality, delays, or disruptions, ensuring minimal disruption to the overall supply chain.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
Collaborate with departments such as production, sales, and customer service to ensure smooth order fulfillment, on-time delivery, and superior customer satisfaction. Work with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, non-conformances, and process improvements to streamline supply chain operations. ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field.
  • Professional certifications in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, APICS, ISO 9001) are a plus.
Supplier Quality & Performance Management:
Expertise in managing supplier performance, addressing non-conformances, and conducting audits to ensure quality compliance.
    Analytical Expertise:
    Strong ability to analyze supply chain data and identify trends related to quality, delivery performance, and inefficiencies.
      Problem-Solving Abilities:
      Effective at identifying issues within the supply chain, such as quality defects or delivery delays, and developing solutions to resolve them.
        Effective Communication:
        Excellent communication skills to interact with suppliers, internal teams, and customers regarding quality, performance, and supply chain issues.
          Negotiation Skills:
          Proficient in negotiating favorable terms and pricing with suppliers, focusing on achieving high-quality products while maintaining cost efficiency.
            Project Management Proficiency:
            Ability to manage supply chain projects, implement corrective actions, and oversee continuous improvement efforts.
              Technical Proficiency:
              Familiarity with supply chain management tools, quality management systems (QMS), and ERP systems to optimize purchasing operations.
                Logistics & Compliance Knowledge:
                Strong understanding of transportation methods, warehouse management, and industry regulations related to import/export and product quality. Mathematical Skills Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic mainframe computer systems and be familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software; Database systems; and Internet software Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel is mandatory.
