Job Description

Logistics Coordinator We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Coordinator to ensure timely and efficient deliveries while maintaining strong communication with vendors and customers. This position reports directly to the Logistics Manager.

Responsibilities Dispatch & Scheduling:
Schedule and dispatch vendors or independent contractors (ICs) to appropriate locations according to customer requests using radios, telephones, and dispatch software. Communicate all pertinent details (location, pickup type, scanning requirements, temperature needs, etc.) to vendors at dispatch. Receive, input, and distribute On-Demand work orders, proof of deliveries (PODs), and manifests; prepare reports as required. Serve as the main contact for vendors/ICs, providing updates on traffic, construction, weather, or other delivery hazards. Ensure routes are fully covered by coordinating with vendors and ICs. Determine and take appropriate action for emergencies, accidents, and vehicle breakdowns. Communicate Chain of Custody standards, including scanning, specimen handling, HIPAA, TSA compliance, and customer-specific requirements. Resolve vendor/IC issues or grievances and escalate to vendor management if needed. Evaluate and prioritize incoming calls to address critical issues efficiently.
Customer Service Support:
Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. Address customer questions, complaints, or service requests in coordination with supervising personnel. Keep customers informed of route changes or On-Demand delays. Support the customer service team during peak periods or as needed.
Operational Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure all policies and procedures in the Priority Express Employee Handbook are followed. Make decisions to determine the most effective delivery methods to meet or exceed customer expectations. Maintain accurate documentation for each job within the dispatch POD and ensure all work is completed and cleared properly. Perform other duties/tasks as assigned. Requirements Excellent verbal communication and problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Internet use Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster teamwork and coach others Knowledge of local and regional geography Ability to read maps accurately and quickly Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and tight deadlines
