We are seeking an experienced Natural Gas Distribution QA/QC Specialist to ensure the quality, safety, and compliance of natural gas distribution construction projects. The successful candidate will oversee inspection activities, verify compliance with company standards, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements, and support continuous quality improvement throughout project execution.
Job Duties:
Perform quality assurance and quality control inspections for natural gas distribution projects. Verify compliance with project specifications, construction drawings, and company standards. Inspect installation of gas mains, service lines, valves, regulators, and associated facilities. Review contractor work for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Monitor adherence to OSHA safety requirements and utility safety procedures. Conduct field audits and document deficiencies with corrective action recommendations. Review welding, fusion, pressure testing, and restoration documentation. Prepare QA/QC reports, inspection records, and project closeout documentation. Coordinate with project managers, construction supervisors, inspectors, and contractors. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning when quality issues arise. Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality management programs.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in natural gas distribution construction, inspection, or QA/QC. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites. Strong knowledge of natural gas distribution systems and utility construction practices. Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety requirements. Strong understanding of natural gas utility construction standards and procedures. Experience with polyethylene (PE) gas pipe installation, fusion, and testing. Knowledge of steel gas pipeline installation, welding, coating, and pressure testing. Experience reviewing construction documentation and quality records. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital inspection/reporting software. EWN/NGA Operator Qualifications preferred not required Utility Inspector certification preferred but not required Experience with GIS preferred but not required
