This role involves maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring the timely movement of materials, communicating with internal departments, and supporting the overall efficiency of the supply chain. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following: Material Coordination Coordinate the movement and distribution of materials, parts, and supplies between departments (e.g., receiving, warehousing, production, quality, shipping). Monitor stock levels and ensure that materials are available as needed to support work orders and production schedules. Support kitting activities for production and maintenance operations, ensuring complete and accurate kit issuance. Track and manage non-conforming materials or returns and coordinate with Customer Service and Quality Control for disposition. Assist Purchasing on material movements, scrap, rejections, system transactions. Inventory Management Assist in inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliations to maintain accurate inventory records. Update inventory transactions in ERP or MRP systems in real-time. Identify discrepancies in stock levels, investigate root causes, and resolve issues in a timely manner. Help ensure materials are stored properly, labeled accurately, and handled according to safety and compliance standards. Communication & Documentation Communicate effectively with purchasing, warehouse, quality, and production teams regarding material status, shortages, and priorities. Prepare, review, and maintain accurate records such as material requisitions, pick lists, transfer logs, and receiving documents. Generate and maintain reports related to inventory movement, usage, and availability. Logistics & Support Support receiving and shipping operations by coordinating the flow of materials to and from the warehouse. Follow up on inbound material shipments and expedite when necessary (Production Controller Responsibility). Coordinate with vendors or freight providers when needed to resolve shipment delays or issues (Buyer/Logistics Manager responsibility). Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in material coordination, inventory control, or logistics support (preferably in aviation, aerospace, or manufacturing industries). Working knowledge of inventory and warehouse procedures. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Quantum Control). Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., FAA, EASA, AS9100). Familiarity with aviation materials, part numbers, and documentation (e.g., 8130, packing lists). Forklift certification or ability to become certified. Basic understanding of hazardous materials handling. Physical Demands and Work Environment Sitting/Standing/Walking Ability to occasionally lift or move materials up to 50 lbs. Reaching At or Below Shoulder Level
