Job Description

Job Description The Fleet Acquisitions Officer will perform professional level financial work by providing fiscal and administrative management support in the Fleet Management Division of the Department of Support Services. The individual will be responsible for the record keeping and tracking of all fleet vehicles and equipment, to include entering new vehicle and equipment information into the work management system, ensuring the integrity of vehicle and equipment related data, developing and/or refining specifications for vehicles and equipment, and taking delivery of new vehicles and equipment on behalf of Gwinnett County Fleet Management. This position coordinates assignment and administration of new bids (evaluating, preparing tabulations, justifications, and award recommendations). The incumbent in this position will support Fleet Management's Purchasing Associate III. Essential Duties Processing and reviewing a variety of transactions involving purchase orders, invoices, accounts payable, contracts, and/or other related information Monitoring compliance with established policies and procedures Assisting with reviewing and/or refining vehicle specifications for user departments Partnering with user departments to develop relationships with internal departments Developing relationships with vendors to identify resources requested by the user department Participating in special projects and task forces Participating in a variety of meetings and training sessions and serves on committees Creating and maintaining vehicle and equipment asset information in the work management system Other Job Requirements/Information Knowledge of government purchasing is preferred Knowledge of fleet vehicles and equipment specifications is preferred Automotive Dealership experience in Fleet Management or Commercial Fleet Administration Grade The grade for this position is C41(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience. Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field AND Two (2) years of professional level accounting experience OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications Accounts Payable, Receivables, and Professional Financial experience For information related to position-specific essential duties, knowledge and skills, and physical requirements, please click here .
