Job Description
Primary Functions:
To ensure egg products are collected, transported and palletized for scheduled delivery.Responsibilities/ Duties:
- Responsible for collecting eggs from layer barns
- Manually transfer all eggs from egg racks to pallets to be stored until designated shipping date
- Document eggs source flocks, lay date and other data as required
- Required to load egg pallets for delivery and return all material to proper location
- Maintain supply inventory of cases, flats, racks, and pallets
- Document daily the temperature of the egg truck, and egg cooler temperature(s)
- Complete and maintain records for Egg Transfer, DC Cooler and FDA requirements
- Ensure all work is completed within biosecurity guidelines
- Maintain the E-Log system according to state and federal regulations
- Report vehicle maintenance issues to management
- Able to maintain equipment and operate within biosecurity requirements
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Flock Service Manager
- Comply with OSHA, Bio-Security, Welfare, and DOT regulations Special knowledge,
Skills, Licenses, Certifications:
- Must have a current valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement issued by Department of Transportation
- Knowledge and able to physically use manual and electronic pallet jacks to maneuver egg pallets
- Must be able to understand and carry out simple to complex written, math and verbal instructions
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift or move objects with proper equipment.
- Willing to work variable schedule of nights, weekends and holidays when requested
- Required to sit, stand, climb, and move about the vehicle and facilities
