Job Description

Summary A Dock Clerk is responsible for routine clerical and data entry functions that support the production teams. This position is also responsible for all Inbound activity on the dock, including the movement of materials, proper labeling and documentation, and accurate record keeping in the customer's inventory database system. Coordinate all Inbound activities for the Receiving Dock Able to work on multiple priorities simultaneously Strong problem-solving skills and abilities, and close attention to work detail are required Distribute, assign, and complete warehouse management system tasks Monitor required process completion standards to ensure on-time delivery schedules Ensure all deliveries are dispatched promptly, accurately, and with all necessary documentation Accurately process paperwork, gather and verify data, and transfer data into a standard format Generate correspondence, respond to routine inquiries, and perform a variety of clerical duties Maintain various computerized reports, charts, and graphs Communicate issues to appropriate TVS leadership and/or staff members Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment (forklift) as needed Perform housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and removing scrap, pallets, cardboard, etc. Perform all other duties as assigned Regular and reliable attendance at word Participate in all TVS SCS quality and excellence initiatives Competencies Attention to detail Communication proficiency Technical capacity Teamwork orientation Decision making Results-driven High safety regard Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to lift 51 pounds, anything greater than 51 pounds requires assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment This job is performed in a busy warehouse environment with high forklift traffic. Warehouses are subject to seasonal temperatures. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and vests are required personal protective equipment (PPE). Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Full Time, Non-Exempt. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required. Travel No travel is required between locations. Education and Experienc A high school diploma or GED is required 2+ years' experience operating a forklift in a Logistics or Manufacturing environment OSHA-endorsed forklift certification or ability to become certified Basic computer skills and experience with a warehouse management system (SAP preferred) Prior work experience in a warehouse and/or a Just-in-Time (JIT) environment preferred Knowledge of safety practices Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
