Grissom CEMF Position Overview Integrated Logistics Services (ILSMD) is seeking an experienced Aircrew Life Support Equipment (ALSE) Mechanic II to support maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, certification, and accountability of mission-critical aircrew survival equipment. The ALSE Mechanic II serves as a technical expert responsible for ensuring life support systems remain fully operational and compliant with military maintenance standards. This role combines advanced maintenance responsibilities, inventory accountability, quality assurance, and operational readiness support. Key ResponsibilitiesAircrew Life Support Equipment Support Perform advanced inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of aircrew life support equipment Maintain and certify: Flight helmets and helmet-mounted systems Oxygen masks and oxygen delivery equipment Survival vests and survival kits Parachutes and restraint systems Life preservers and flotation devices Chemical defense equipment Night vision support equipment Emergency egress and survival systems Conduct operational testing and readiness verification Analyze equipment deficiencies and determine corrective actions Equipment Maintenance & Readiness Perform preventive and corrective maintenance actions Conduct advanced troubleshooting and repair activities Ensure all assigned equipment remains mission capable and deployment ready Maintain inspection, maintenance, and certification records Support equipment preservation, packaging, storage, and deployment preparation Warehouse & Inventory Operations Maintain accountability of assigned life support equipment Assist with inventory management and equipment audits Verify serviceability and configuration of equipment sets Prepare equipment for shipment, deployment, and redistribution Utilize inventory and maintenance tracking systems Logistics & Transportation Support Support deployment, shipment, and movement of equipment Assist with loading and unloading operations Verify shipping documentation and equipment accountability Coordinate equipment readiness for operational requirements Technical Leadership & Quality Assurance Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to junior personnel Assist with quality assurance inspections and corrective actions Ensure compliance with Technical Orders (T.O.s), maintenance standards, and safety requirements Support readiness inspections and operational evaluations Safety & Compliance Maintain compliance with all applicable maintenance, safety, and environmental requirements Follow hazardous material handling procedures when required Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 3-5 years of aviation life support equipment maintenance experience Experience troubleshooting and repairing aviation support equipment Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings, and maintenance instructions Strong computer and documentation skills Valid driver's license Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly Ability to work in physically demanding maintenance and warehouse environments Experience with "Mobile Aircraft Arresting System (MAAS)". Aircraft arresting systems are specialized safety mechanisms designed to rapidly decelerate aircraft during emergency landings or aborted takeoffs, using hook-cable or net barrier systems. Preferred Qualifications Graduate of an ALSE or Survival Equipment Maintenance Course Military aviation maintenance experience Active SECRET security clearance Experience supporting Air Force aviation operations Experience with inventory, maintenance, and readiness tracking systems Quality assurance or inspector experience Forklift certification or experience Work Environment This position is performed in warehouse, maintenance shop, flight-line support, and operational environments with exposure to varying weather conditions and mechanical systems. Physical labor, equipment handling, and occasional travel may be required.
